Fogo Island Inn is a Relais and Châteaux property that sits on an island, off an island, at one of the four corners of the Earth. Commissioned by Shorefast, a registered Canadian charity with the mandate to help secure a resilient future for Fogo Island, Newfoundland. The Inn, designed by Newfoundland born architect Todd Saunders, has quickly garnered an international reputation for exceptional, embodied, place-specific hospitality and bold, thoughtful, humanistic and contemporary design.

Situated along Iceberg Alley, all 29 one-of-a-kind guest suites feature dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto the wildest and most powerful ocean on the planet. Most suites have a wood-burning fireplace stove; all are furnished with quiet luxuries and handmade furniture and quilts – a stimulating relief from the numbing uniformity of modern times. The island’s still-wild world has caribou to track, hills of berries to forage, nature trails to explore and birds and sea life to behold. The award-winning Inn is a community asset – 100 per cent of operating surpluses are reinvested into the community.<br>
