In these difficult times, Excursionist remains your trusted partner for travel to North America and the Caribbean. From the outset, we have been at the forefront in working with intergovernmental organizations, partners on the ground, and our industry to provide the most thorough response to the pandemic. Our first priority remains the safety of our guests and we have instituted an updated Safety Management System to reflect best practices for our COVID-19 response. We have also established a very flexible cancellation policy for new bookings to ensure clients can book with us, worry-free. We have ensured we provide constant, updated information to our partners in terms of governmental restrictions and re-openings through our weekly webinar series. And finally, we have worked to ensure the stability of our company into the long-term.

NEW COVID-19 SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Our team has conferred with epidemiologists and a global health and safety consultancy to update our Safety Management System (SMS). As a member of the World Travel & Tourism Council, we have been on the forefront of developing and instituting a “Safe Travels Protocol.” Our team is regularly reviewing every preferred accommodation partner and only offering properties instituting strict policies including new hygiene and sanitation protocols, physical distancing in dining outlets, employee training, touchless check-in, adequate room recovery time and much more. We are now only offering privately guided services, where travelers do not share with anyone outside their group. All guides, drivers and other touring vendors will be checked to ensure they have instituted clear policies on hand washing, mask use, physical distancing, transport and equipment sanitation and employee training.

FLEXIBLE AND WORRY-FREE CANCELLATION POLICIES

For all new bookings, while we are still collecting deposits at the time of booking, Excursionist is temporarily modifying our cancellation charges to allow your client to cancel their booking for a full refund at any time prior to a set cut-off date, shortly prior to their date of departure, based on the cancellation terms of our strictest vendors. After that cutoff date, in the event that travelers are unable to travel due to a) being diagnosed with COVID-19 or being ordered to self-quarantine, b) transportation to or at the destination being prohibited due to COVID-19, or c) services provided by Excursionist rendered impossible or impractical due to COVID-19, Excursionist will provide a full refund of any fees payable to Excursionist for services provided directly by Excursionist. Excursionist will also work with its vendors including hotels, transportation companies and tour guides to negotiate for either a full refund, partial refund or a travel credit for future travel.

Excursionist is a privately held company and financially stable and healthy. We have the best, low risk rating possible for a travel company with Dunn & Bradstreet. We are a licensed Seller of Travel in Florida and carry a surety bond. We hold letters of credit with suppliers to guarantee payments. We are regularly stress-tested by our banking and merchant credit institutions. We carry a blanket $5 Million per occurrence Travel and Tour Operator Liability Insurance policy.
