Clear blue waters, pastoral countrysides, brilliant winter skies, and one of Europe's most beautiful cities in Stockholm are no cause for shame. But it's the internal policies of the Swedish people and their government that make the seaside nation so livable--and so envied. Having transitioned nicely from the unruly days of Vikings to the design oriented idealism of today's society (think Volvo, IKEA, the Nobel Prize) Sweden isn't simply a great place to live--it's a great place to travel. There's no "right" way to travel Sweden, but if it were up to us the itinerary would certainly include dining in old city Stockholm, relaxing along the Baltic Sea, and an adventurous foray into the northern latitudes for scenery, history (Viking sites), Sami culture, and some of Europe's most ideal cycling roads.
